| The
2007 guide school will take place on the wonderfully
scenic Upper Klamath River. Graduation day we will put
our skills to the test, and raft the class 5 Cal-Salmon
(water level permitting). We choose the Upper Klamath river
for a number of reasons it offers a progression of class 1-4+ rapids, camping
in a true wilderness setting, great fishing, and we have been training our
guides on the Klamath river since 1979. The week will be spent camping along
the banks of the Klamath River, and rafting everyday right from camp. At
the end of the week you will be swift water certified allowing you to guide
anywhere in the world from the Grand Canyon to New Zealand. Other guide schools
offer their own programs then talk about how completion will help you get
a job guiding it won't the swift water rescue certification you earn with
the Adventure Center will.
During the week
we will cover all aspects that create a great river guide.
Setting up a wilderness camp, Gourmet Dutch Oven Cooking,
First Aid Shock Trauma on the river, Reading River Hydraulics,
Knots used on the river, Guest Hospitality, Rope Techniques
Used in Unwrapping Rafts, Unflipping Rafts, Dealing with
crisis & a lot more.
We depart as a group for Guide School Monday morning the
27th th from our warehouse in Ashland, Oregon and returning
on the evening of 31st . Parking will be provided
(Complete details will be sent along with your enrollment).

and required for anyone else interested in guiding for
